The C.O.O.P. Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Fullerton, California. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
We collect only what you choose to give us:
This website does not require an account, does not ask you to log in, and does not collect information from you passively beyond what your browser sends to any website it visits.
To process and acknowledge your gift, to send you a receipt for your tax records, to keep you updated on the work your gift supports, and to answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever. We do not share donor lists with other organizations. We share information only with the service providers who make our work possible, such as our donation platform and our email provider, and only so they can perform that service for us.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of the public filings a nonprofit is required to make. Those filings do not include individual donor contact information.
We sometimes thank donors and partners publicly, on this site or at our events. We ask first. If you would rather give anonymously, tell us and we will keep it that way.
The families in our stories are kept anonymous unless they have given us written permission to share their name or photograph. We collect that permission in person, and it is theirs to withdraw at any time.
If you give or ask to hear from us, we may send you occasional updates about our programs and our Annual Christmas Family Drive. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Two services touch this site. Givebutter hosts the donation form and processes gifts under its own privacy policy. Google Fonts serves the typefaces this page uses. If you follow a link away from this site, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under state law, and we extend the same courtesy to everyone regardless of where they live. Email or call us using the details below and we will take care of it.
We may need to keep certain donation records regardless of a deletion request, because tax and charitable-reporting rules require it.
This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page.
